The Rusty surf team traveled to Lahaina Harbor, Maui to compete in Event #5 of the NSSA Hawaii Conference. Maui's South Shore offered small but contestable surf in the 1.5-3 foot range for the competitors. The rampy rights and long lefts at the harbor made for an exciting display of surfing from Hawaii's young rising talent pool of surfers. The Rusty team mixed progressive surfing with good contest strategy at the NSSA event. Rusty team rider Kaito Kino (@kaitokino123) backed up his 3 wins (Open Mens, Explorer Mens, Explorer Juniors) at NSSA Event #1 at Kewalos with 2 Wins in the Open and Explorer Mens Finals and a 2nd in the Explorer Juniors Final.
